The Golden Eagle was built about 120 years ago and was originally known as The First And Last.  The pub, which commands breathtaking views across the Medway Valley towards West Malling and Tonbridge, was owned by Whitbread until 1977 after which it became the Tudor Rose.  It is owned in its current guise as The Golden Eagle by John and Kathy Maynard who took over in 2004 from Vince Forde, who retired after 18 years at the helm.  However, chefs Margaret and Ian, creators of the pubs popular Malaysian menu and with over 25 years experience between them, are retained  so customers can continue to enjoy the delicious oriental cuisine which has made this establishment a local favourite...

The Golden Eagle prides itself on its quality food and service and is mentioned in the Egon Ronay Guide and the AA Good Pub Guide.  It has continually won Environmental Health awards from 1988 to the present day.
