The Fleur de Lys (demolished)

The Fleur de Lys Inn was built in the 16th Century and is thought to have been the Wine House frequented by the household of J.H.Rosney, the French Ambassador to the court of Queen Elizabeth I from 1597 to 1604.  He is said to have stayed at Culand Farm, Burham to be near his good friend Sir Walter Raleigh who lived for a time at the Friary in Aylesford.

Sadly the Fleur de Lys, which stood on Rochester Road, was demolished in the Summer of 2010.
