Welcome back after the Christmas break. The Parish Council would like to wish all the residents belated best wishes for 2008.

At the time of print, the traffic calming work had commenced and it is possible that all work has now been completed.

After careful consideration, the Parish Council has decided unanimously not to move the bus stop, which is currently outside No 27 Rochester Road, to the grassed area outside Whitehouse Crescent. We have requested that the current bus stop be moved back to its original location (recently it was damaged and whilst it was replaced it was re-installed in a different position). Once relocation has taken place, further consideration will take place with regards to installing a bus shelter.

An order has been placed for a bus shelter opposite the garage (outside number 1 Downsview).  This should be installed within 8 – 12 weeks.

Once again, it is time to remind all dog owners that dog fouling on pavements can carry a fine.  Please ensure that you are a responsible dog owner and that any mess made by your dog is cleared up and disposed of in an appropriate manner. There are dog poo bins placed around the village for this purpose.

The DDA access is still going forward and does include both steps and ramps for all. Work on this access should commence within 10 weeks.

The youth shelter is still currently on hold but a decision on this should be made very shortly (if not already).

The refurbishment of the overflow car park at the Village Hall is still under consideration. Drainage is currently causing us some problems but it is hoped that solution can be found.

Illegally parked cars in and around New Road are causing problems as previously reported.  The local Police, PCSO and TMBC are aware of the offenders and are taking steps to address this.
